ABOUT

Deheubarth emerged out of the aftermath of Ghast, originally as a solo project by Myrggh, during the sodden Welsh winter of 2013/14. It was born from limited resources and a desire to explore themes of rumination, worry, and the creation of personal hell - concepts reflected in the dark, melancholic blend of black metal and doom.

The project’s first demo, Darkwinter Possession, was released during a solar eclipse in 2015, drenched in reverb to mask its rawness. Inspired by feelings of anxiety and the perception of an overwhelming threat lurking beneath the mundane. 

By 2019, through reconnecting with bandmates from over two decades prior, and overcoming various life obstacles, Deheubarth’s lineup was solidified with Myrggh (vocals, guitar; Ghast), Idna (bass; Desecration, Extreme Noise Terror), and Havenless (drums; Fen, Fellwarden). Drawing on members’ rich history, the band developed a powerful blackened doom sound, releasing the album Revel in Occult Chambers, on Infernum Records, at the end of 2024.

Combining the intense storytelling of their original offerings with the dark, immersive qualities of their music, Deheubarth continues to evoke themes of internal chaos and existential dread, for fans of bands like Bethlehem, Mayhem, Anathema (early) and early My Dying Bride.
